Event: Save the Environment

Date: 7/2/2022 – 11/2/2022

Participants: FS students

Activity: This event was done by all FS children. Each class had a chance to plant a particular type of seed. The seeds planted were of tomato, onion, eggplant, sunflower, and garlic. It was a bevy of activities in the garden as the children were enjoying all the digging, sowing, and watering!

Goal: Planting seeds and growing plants are a great way to address all seven areas of learning at EYFS level. It helps children to explore and enjoy the world around them while practising their locomotor skills, body management skills, and object control skills through gardening tasks.

Learning Outcome: Children learn how to grow and care for plants. They understand that plants require specific conditions to grow well and that if not provided the right care and environment, their development will be affected.
