St. Mary’s Group of Schools (SMG)

The St. Mary’s Group of Schools consists of six schools serving approximately 8,000 students in the United Arab Emirates. The schools have established a solid track record with a mission of high-quality education, affordability, and value-based education. All of the schools are managed and operated by the Catholic Church in the UAE under the leadership of the Vicar Apostolic of the Apostolic Vicariate of Southern Arabia, currently His Excellency Bishop Paolo Martinelli, OFM Cap.

The first school, St. Joseph’s School, a primary and secondary school in Abu Dhabi opened in 1967. The school follows the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi curriculum. The school is managed by the Carmelite Sisters of St. Theresa. 

The second school, St. Mary’s Catholic High School, Dubai, was founded in1968 through the courtesy of His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. The school follows the National Curriculum for England, preparing students for the Edexcel Board GCSE/IGCSE and Advanced Level Examinations. The school is managed by the Sisters of St Joseph Chambery.


The third school, St. Mary’s Catholic High School, Fujairah, was established in Fujairah in 2002 offering both the National Curriculum for England and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum to meet the demands of the growing international as well as local Indian population in the emirate. The school is managed by the Salesians of Don Bosco.

The School of Knowledge, located in Sharjah, is the fourth of the St. Mary’s Group of Schools, having been acquired in 2012, and offers the National Curriculum for England. The school is managed by the Franciscan Missionaries of Christ the King.

St. Mary’s Muhaisnah High School, formally St. Mary’s Catholic High School, Muhaisnah, opened in 2015, and is the fifth of the St. Mary’s Group of Schools. St. Mary’s Muhaisnah High School offers the National Curriculum for England from EYFS to IGCSE. The school is managed by the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres (SPC).

St. Mary’s Private School, Ras Al Khaimah, is the latest addition to the St Mary’s Group of Schools. It opened in 2019 offering the National Curriculum for England from EYFS to IGCSE. The school is managed by the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres, (SPC).

We endeavor to holistically develop every student to their full spiritual, intellectual, emotional, physical and artistic potential.
