Welcome to Post-16
Welcome to St. Mary’s Muhaisnah Post 16 education. This is an exciting time for our students to move into the Post 16 holistic education, as it offers them the opportunity to not only advance academically but also develop their interpersonal skills by leading the community. We have designed an innovative Post 16 curriculum that we believe is both inclusive and engaging to all our students seeking broader, unique, and more flexible options than that available elsewhere in Dubai. This supports the student to focus more on qualifications that maximize their chances of success and that will facilitate access to higher education and employment.
Our supportive learning environment will challenge the student to reach their full potential. The transition from high school to college is quite challenging, and our team will work to ensure our students are set up properly for this journey.
We believe that the determination of an individual’s success goes beyond grades. While grades are important, contributing to wider school life will enable students to acquire valuable skills for the rest of their life. The goal is for our students to graduate from our school as happy, successful, world-ready young adults who have taken advantage of all that we have to offer them.
We offer Pearson Edexcel International A levels (IAL) as a two-year program. The first year (Year 12) is the Advanced Subsidiary Level (AS) and the second year (Year 13) is a continuation to complete the A-Level program. In addition to A levels, we also provide a range of personalized pathways like Pearson Edexcel BTEC International Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Business / Information Technology at Post-16, all leading to university entry. (The KHDA approval for BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma is still in progress)
Holistic Education at Post 16
Post 16 Holistic Curriculum is built on teaching and learning principles that regard the student as a full person who is interconnected to one another. The curriculum methods strive to make learning a self-improvement process that explicitly identifies the self and the social context of learning and teaching, as well as identifying the requirements of the individual learner in the interaction. It emphasizes the learner’s emotional, social, and cognitive well-being evenly.
Post 16 educational system remains effective while also being relevant to the advancements we make consistently. For improved performance, our teachers use a blended learning approach to enhance the learning journey. The usage of technology is inextricably linked to the concept of an innovative school.
Holistic education works to promote appropriate skills within a flexible, future-oriented curriculum and platform for lifelong learning. Building a link between skill development and broader education, employment, and growth.
Skills development as an integral part of lifelong learning, at Sixth form we promote lifelong learning by giving every individual and community a flexible and diverse range of meaningful learning and training alternatives throughout AS and A level.
