On December 17 every year, the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) organizes an incredible tree planting activity, where more than 1000 trees are planted in Al Minei, Ras Al Khaimah by citizens and residents from all across the United Arab Emirates. The powerful motto for this activity is, “For our emirates, we plant.”

This year, SMHSM was thrilled to be part of this amazing community event, which has grown into a vibrant and bustling celebration of environmental action since its birth in 2007. A dedicated group of 10 of our students eagerly volunteered to take part in this year’s planting ceremony: Mehrael George, Varisha Akbar, David, Carlise Eugenio, Sophia Cruz, Zane Pollisco, Amirah Sow, Saeeda Ehsan, Gaith, and Haider Akbar.

The event was nothing short of inspiring, as hundreds of people came together, united in their mission to support the environment and make the UAE greener and more beautiful. Our students were enthusiastic participants, planting saplings with passion and gaining unique experiences, all while demonstrating their strong commitment to environmental sustainability. This initiative not only raised awareness about the importance of tree planting but also inspired our students with a deeper sense of responsibility for preserving the natural beauty of the Emirates for generations to come.

Under the inspiring patronage and presence of H. E. Engr. Sheikh Salem Bin Sultan Bin Saqr Al-Qasimi, member of the Executive Council of the Government of Ras Al Khaimah and Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation, our students were fortunate enough to hear his motivational words, making the experience even more memorable. The planting took place in the early morning at Skheiber, Al Minae Area in Ras Al Khaimah.

We are bursting with pride for our students’ incredible participation in this meaningful event. It was a day of action, learning, and community spirit, and we can’t wait to continue our involvement in future tree-planting activities, staying committed to the environment and contributing to the well-being of our community!
